INMERIDIEM

Installed on the third floor of Oslo’s public library, Inmeridiem is a sculpture that can only be experienced once a day, by one person, at the exact moment between sunrise and sunset. A glass sphere lowers automatically into the hands of the viewer. Inside is a stone from Akerselva, the river that runs through the centre of Oslo and enters the sea near the library. As the viewer holds the sphere, they listen to music and recordings of texts that reflect on touch, distance, the stone they’re holding, and the way names hold ideas and organisms together.
